SATURDAY MORNING RULES
This week, we launched a tribute to Saturday morning cartoons.
Before streaming and YouTube, there was one rule every kid understood: you got one chance. If your favorite cartoon started at 9:00, you were in front of the TV at 8:59. There was no pause button, and no "I'll watch it later." If you missed it, you missed it.
Looking back, it's interesting how much of childhood worked that way. The ice cream truck, the latest toy, even cereal prizes. None of them waited for you. Maybe that's part of why they became such lasting memories. They were temporary, and you had to be there.
That is some of the idea behind Flavor52 too. Every Monday, a new flavor arrives. Some will stay, many won't. If you skip one, there is a good chance it won't be waiting for you six months from now. It is a little inconvenient, but it is also what makes it exciting. Some things are better when they aren't available forever. That's a lesson Saturday morning cartoons taught us long before we started making coffee.
